I have been suffering from some uninspired blahs this last week.  The winter seems to be taking a toll on me and my creativity.

I know spring is just around the corner, and I am eager for it like never before.

This is from watching the 401 traffic in Puslinch tonight.  It was my first time experimenting with car light streaks.  I had way too much fun once I figured out what I was doing.  Juvenile fun, but still fun.

Owen is on the mend.  Not 100%, but back to a lot of his old tricks.  It was a long weekend full of coughing, crying and long naps.  It is wonderful to have him and his huge personality back.

Withered

This is a little like how I feel today…

Owen has been really sick this week.  He has suffered through bouts of coughing, a spiking fever and long restless nights for both of us.  After a doctor’s visit today and some chest x-rays, we found out his poor little body is fighting pneumonia.  I think we caught it pretty early, but it still seems to be kicking the hell out of him.

It is going to be a long weekend full of fluids, amoxicillin and lots and lots of rest.

Locked

Another shot from Sunday at Twin Ponds.  Nothing special though.  Although, there are several of these locked boxes around the Twin Ponds area.  I have no idea what there are protecting.  It makes me way too curious for my own good.

I haven’t really been out since, unless you count my walk last night.  It was nice in the cold winter air, but far too dark to take any shots.

Night shots are very intimidating to me.

I am hoping to get out for a bit tomorrow after work.  Seems like a good time to go, as the days are getting just a little bit longer.

I spent the afternoon exploring today in the cold January air.  It was -7°C or -16°C with the windchill.  It was beautiful and sunny though.

Hopefully I will get a chance to spend more time outside this week.  I love the winter and think it is passing by far too quickly.

I was out on Friday with my camera at lunch time.  This is the first time my camera has been out since New Years Eve.  It was a cold day, but really sunny and beautiful.  I wish I had been able to spend more than 2o minutes outside.  Here is another shot from friday too…

Dreaming

I am still shooting RAW images, and working on learning how to process them.  (I think this one might be a bit overdone) I am slowly figuring things out too.  My biggest hiccup has been the size if the files…  Even when this shot was converted to a jpeg, it was more than 8MB!  That is too big for the blog, or even emailing.

I think I have finally figured out how to compress them though, after tons of research online.  I am using the picture manager in Microsoft Office, but it is leaving the compressed files with thin black and/or white borders on some sides.  It is simple enough to use, but a bit frustrating too!  Does anyone have any better ideas?
